The Sakai New Business Creation Center, a network partner of UPDATE EARTH, is advancing the "Sakai City Startup Proof-of-Concept Promotion Program", targeting startups within and beyond Sakai City. With the vision of transforming Sakai into a proof-of-concept hub, the program supports innovation that addresses social challenges and enhances the quality of life for citizens. It offers subsidies for essential expenses and access to real-world testing fields.
For the 2024 fiscal year, four startups have been selected to participate:

• Sanrit Seedlings Co., Ltd.
  Developing a Sakai-specific map that integrates various geographical data and expert knowledge on biodiversity to identify optimal locations for biotopes. The project aims to validate the map’s utility.
• FeelTrust Inc.
  Enhancing collaboration between caregivers and dentists to improve oral care for the elderly, while promoting the digitization of caregiving records.
• mairu tech Inc.
  Testing a system designed to improve the accessibility of welfare taxis and exploring its application in medical facilities with long-term care beds to identify issues and develop new functionalities.
• UJC Liberdade Inc.
  Offering self-defense-based jiu-jitsu classes for children aged 3 to 5 and their parents. The project evaluates the developmental benefits of such programs for young children.
