Nishi-Nippon Financial Holdings (Nishi-Nippon FH), a network partner of UPDATE EARTH, is hosting the 5th Nishi-Nippon FH Business Contest – OPEN INNOVATION HUB. The final selection round will take place in February 2025.
The contest aims to foster collaboration with the Nishi-Nippon FH Group, partner companies, and supporting organizations, encouraging innovative business models that drive regional economic revitalization and address societal challenges. Participants will compete across industries and sectors to present groundbreaking ideas.
This year’s concept, “MAKE @ DIGITAL KYUSHU—Connecting Kyushu’s Future with Digital Technology”, focuses on the theme of “Digital Technology and Regional Economic Revitalization.”
The contest comprises two categories:
- Seed Category (Kyushu only): For pre-launch ideas or those in the validation stage.
- Business Category (Nationwide): For launched businesses.
The grand prizes are ¥100,000 and ¥500,000, respectively. Entrepreneurs who pass the second selection round in December will advance to the final evaluation.
Previous winners have successfully secured funding and partnerships, and this contest is expected to serve as a springboard for transformative services.
