The Chiba Venture Club, part of the Chiba Industry Advancement Center and a network partner of UPDATE EARTH, will hold the Business Challenge Contest Supporting Tomorrow's Chiba on February 7, 2025, at Hotel Green Tower Makuhari in Mihama Ward, Chiba City.

This contest, now in its 41st year, is a public-private initiative that brings together local economic organizations, financial institutions, securities firms, and public support agencies to assist venture businesses. Five ventures that passed the initial and secondary screening rounds will compete for the Chiba Venture Club Grand Prize, which includes a ¥500,000 cash award. Their business plans aim to drive revitalization and address pressing issues in Chiba Prefecture.

At last year’s contest, the Grand Prize went to Sakana Dream for its innovative Hybrid Fish Project, which introduced technology to fully cultivate "Kaiwari," a rare fish native to Chiba’s waters. This year’s contest promises to showcase equally distinctive and impactful ideas.
