UPDATE EARTH’s partner, the Osaka Innovation Hub (OIH), a hub for entrepreneurial exchanges and support in Osaka City, will host the 17th OSAP (Osaka Startup Acceleration Program) Demo Day on November 26. The OSAP program supports startups by offering mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs, aiming to accelerate business development through collaboration with large companies that are oriented toward open innovation and securing investment from investors.
Since its inception, the program has supported over 140 companies, raising nearly 33 billion yen in funding and resulting in more than 250 business partnerships. The 17th cohort includes six startups, focused on sectors such as medical and welfare mobility and sustainable solutions for waste management. These companies will present their achievements based on mentoring and collaborations.
The Kansai region has been home to many successful ventures, and there is high expectation that these startups will grow into companies that could have a significant impact on society, with Demo Day serving as a key opportunity for their further development.
